WHAT IS CAUSING THE RAPID RISE IN GLOBAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE?Almost all the nations in the world these days are meeting at COP27 to discuss Climate Change, we talked about it in the previous post. But there is a question that many still ask, what is causing this increase in global average temperatures? 
The scientific community in decades of studies has come to the practically unanimous conclusion [*1] that it is the anthropogenic emissions of climate-altering gases that have broken the climate balance of our planet. 
The main Climate-altering Gases are: Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in concentrations higher than natural ones and Methane Gas released directly into the atmosphere. They are in fact responsible for the famous Greenhouse Effect, or the natural mechanism that traps solar radiation in the atmosphere causing a rise in temperature.A right amount of greenhouse effect is actually not only a natural phenomenon, but also vital, because it is what allows us to live in a temperate planet and not in an “ice ball” that wanders in space. 
The problem is that too much greenhouse effect is causing the breakdown of this delicate balance, with the consequences under the eyes of all.According to reports prepared by the IPCC [*2], the agency man-made by the UN to study climate change, greenhouse gas emissions of human origin are divided as follows:
33% energy production
24% industries
22% agriculture and deforestation
15% transport
6% buildings and constructions
It is therefore clear that stopping climate change requires a strategy that acts on all sources of emissions, and that all of us to some extent can do our part!
