Recycling the containers, packaging and plastic objects that we throw away is a virtuous behavior that is now becoming a “good habit” for the majority of Italians.
However, what is not often repeated enough is that not all plastics are really recyclable.
Some polymers, in fact, cannot be processed by the recycling chain either for technical reasons or for economic reasons related to costs.
The best action we can do is therefore to be able to distinguish them befoe throwing them away in order to confer them directly into the undifferentiated helping the recycling chain to work more efficiently.
It seems easy in words, but in reality how to do it ?
Don’t worry , the best way is to check if the code taht allows you to recognize the material is printed on the label, or look or the code that identifies it.
Once you have identified the code or acronym you can clearly distinguish the type of plastic with which the object we are about to throw away is made.
For example, if we see number 1 we know that container is made of PET, a material with which almost all plastic bottles for food use for water, soft drinks and beverages are made and is Recyclable in the symbol we see instead is number 3 we will know that material is PVC, with which some bottles of detergents are made, but also pipes or plastic object such as buckets and trays and it is not recyclable except in special implants.
By consulting the table you can then easily identify the material of the plastic object you want to differentiate, improving the quality of your householdrecycling.
